P4 (Perception, Planning, Perspiration & Perseverance)
Leads To Pinnacle Of Success

Research in the biological world at the level of molecular level has great impact in the field of science from the past two decades. New developments in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell biology, Biopharmaceuticals, clinical research together with Omics sciences like Genomics, Transcriptomics and Proteomics have created challenging opportunities. The excitement of new discoveries, inventions and challenges in the field of Biotechnology will continue forever.

To keep in pace with the advancement in the field of Biotechnology and to nurture and harness the talents of coming biotechnologists, The Department of Biotechnology was started in the year 2004 - 2005 in our college. The very first batch of Biotechnology engineering students graduated this year with good percentages and also selected in campus recruitments.

It gives me an immense pride and happiness to be part of the Department of Biotechnology and the Sapthagiri College of Engineering. An excellent team of highly motivated, active, enthusiastic faculty have enabled the students to perform well in the examinations and get first hand information and to be strong in basics and advanced technique in the field of Biotechnology. I am indeed very much delighted to declare that the higher semester students' performance for the year was outstanding with 100% result.

Our students have access to state of the art research facilities and equipments. The Department enjoys a rich intellectual and supportive environment with ample opportunities for interaction with colleagues with a wide variety of scientific expertise.

The guest lectures and seminars are organized to upgrade and develop awareness about the recent trends in the field of Biotechnology. Our students have attended and participated in various technical and non-technical fests and bagged many prizes. Faculties of our Department have participated in various national and international workshops, seminars and conferences at different reputed institutes in Bangalore and outside Bangalore.
