Power Flows through Knowledge

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was inducted from the academic from the academic year 2004-2005 The department is functioning with the able guidance and directions of Dr. N Srinivsan . Who is a well known Professor in Electrical Engineering wing. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members who are eminent in their field. Sri. H.P Nagaraj and Sri. Neelshetty have registered for Ph.D. Degree of VTU and JNTU respectively. To motivate the faculties for writing papers and to acquire the latests knowledge in their field they are periodically deputed to attend the seminars and workshops.

The Department has DC machines Laboratory Control System Laboratory and Transformer and Induction Machines Laboratory which are well equipped as per the requirement of VTU. Two new Laboratories have been commissioned in the Department during August 2007. The laboratories, which are commissioned, are Relay and HV laboratory and Power system laboratory.

Seventh semester students have visited Central Power Research institute on 15 November, 2007 and got familiarized with equipments, which are used in the field and their testing methods.

Future of the electrical and electronics stream is very bright since the nation is surging forward for ambitious goal of power for all by 2012 and large amount of power generation about 600 GM by 2022.

Sri.Chandrashekar B.L. has attended 6th National Conference on Virtual Instrumentation in Engineering Education conducted by M/S National Instruments on 26th October 2007 at Bangalore.

Sri.Nagaraj HP has attended the National Conference on Advance Power systems at SJBIT, conducted on 26th March 2008 and presented the paper "Insulation requirement of UHV DC transmission".

One-day workshop on Trends in High Voltage Engineering was conducted on 28 Feb'2008 in the Seminar hall of the College. Dr.N.Vasudev, Joint Director, CPRI, Bangalore, delivered a lecture on Emergence of Polymeric insulator for High Voltage Transmission System. Sri.Badrinarayan K, Engineering Officer, CPRI, Bangalore, delivered a lecture on High Voltage Testing of Electrical Equipments.

Visit to Substation
Students of 6th Semester and 8th Semester EEE, visited 400kV Sub Station at Nelamangala on 11th and 12th April 2008.
